BRAZILIAN CARROT CAKE

Ingredients:

4 eggs

200 g grated carrot

150 ml canola oil or other oil

100 ml of milk

1 / 2 spoon (coffee) salt

320 g sugar

240 g wheat flour

1 spoon (dessert) from yeast chemical cinnamon powder, cardamom, cloves to taste

Preparation: - Blend in blender carrots, eggs, oil, milk and salt. - After mixing well beaten with the flour, baking powder, spices and sugar. - Assar coated in the form of 180 + / - 40min.

Syrup: - Mix 1 can of condensed milk with three tablespoon of cocoa powder and light the fire, stirring continuously, until starting to drop from the bottom of the pan. Turn off the heat, mix 200g of cream of milk and 50 g of semi-bitter chocolate, cut into pieces. Cover the cake and decorate with cocoa powder.

The Feijoada is a typical revenue here, but it requires too much work and time to be nice. And, ingredients that are difficult to find out here.

On the day the beans (in the company of the rice) is the Brazilian player at the table. So there's a recipe (which I do in my house) you can vary, depending on the products they find there where you live! Good luck!!

First, the material, the ingredients:

500g beans/2 or 4 clove of garlic / 3 leaves of herb called louro (bay leaf)/100g smoked bacon or jerked meat/sausage/ olive oil.

And now, how i made?

Cook the beans with the bay leaves, until tender and reserve. Place bacon ens the sausage in a frying pan and fry the garlic in olive oil, only to release the smell of garlic. Place the bean mixture in the skillet and boil until you feel caught in the seasoned beans. The appearance should be a thick soup, but fluid, must have an appearance similar to the sugo sauce. If the gown is very fluid mix some baked beans and add the beans and let it cook slightly thickens.

*The beans can be served in a cup (if you want to hit everything but the bacon in the mix), on cold, with a little chopped chives. As a meal, just make a white rice , just braise with onion, serve with some green, preferably spring greens leaves, slices of orange.

The reco-reco is another supporting instrument within the Capoeira percussion orchestra. It is a bamboo scraper that can play a more complicated rhythm to contrast with the agogo.

Atabaque (at-a-ba-key)
The atabaque is a wooden drum stretched with a goats skin. It also comes originally from Africa. Its rhythm provides the foundation for the music of the roda. In our style, the atatbqaue player improvises less than some of the other musicians, but their beat is like a heart-beat driving the music and the games forward.

Pandeiro (pan-day-roo)
The pandeiro is a tambourine with a skin. It is thought that this instrument originated in the Middle East and was brought first to Africa and then to Brasil.In our style of Capoeira we use two pandeiros playing complimentary rhythms. The musicians playing the pandeiro sit on either side of the berimbaus during the roda.

Berimbau (bee-rim-bow)
The Berimbau is a percussion instrument. It is a type of 'musical bow' and comes from Africa.To play the berimbau the arame (string) is stretched tight over the pau de berimbau (stick) you hold the cabaça (gourd) against your stomach and hit the string with the vareta (stick). Holding the pedra (stone) against the string creates different sounds and the caixixi (shaker) makes a complimentary sound. There are three Berimbaus in a traditional Capoeira orchestra. Each one plays a different complimentary rhythm. The type of the berimbau, and the note it plays depends on the size of the cabaça.

Presentation

Is the story of the rise and fall of Raimundo Nonato, a cook with very special talents. It deals with two universal themes: food and power. But more specifically, food as means of acquiring power. It can be defined as “grown-up fable of power, sex and cooking.”

ESTÔMAGO was the big winner in its world premiere at the 2007 Rio Film Festival, receiving four awards: Best Film (Audience Choice), Best Director, Best Actor and the Jury’s Special Award. In its European premiere at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, it won the Lions Award and the audience’s second choice out of 200 films. In Berlin’s 2008 festival, the film screening offered a special dinner, inspired bydishes prepared in the film. In Uruguay at the Punta del Este International Festival, ESTÔMAGO took the awards for Best Film and Special Mention for Best Actor.

The film marks director Marcos Jorge’s debut in feature length movies, after a successful career as director of shorts, commercials and as an artist specialized in video-installations. Marcos Jorge studied cinema in Italy and lived there throughout the 90s. His films and videos have won over 50 national and international awards.

The film was shot over five weeks in Curitiba and Sao Paulo at the end of 2006. It was finalized in Milan and Rome, Italy in mid-2007. ESTÔMAGO is the first film produced under a bilateral co-production agreement between Brazil-Italy since the 1970s. This film has dual citizenship, Brazilian for Brazil and Italian for Italy.

In the cast, the Bahian actor João Miguel stands out as the protagonist, along side Curitiba’s Fabiula Nascimento (newcomer to the big screen), Rio’s Babu Santana and Alexander Sil, Italy’s Carlo Briani and Sao Paulo’s Paulo Miklos.
The film was inspired by the short story “Presos pelo Estômago” (Caught by the Stomach) by Lusa Silvestre, who penned the screenplay in collaboration with Marcos Jorge. The script was written by de Lusa Silvestre, Marcos Jorge, Cláudia da Natividade and Fabrizio Donvito. The film was produced by Cláudia da Natividade, Fabrizio Donvito and Marco Cohen. The director of photography is Toca Seabra, whose career includes participation in a long list of films like O Outro Lado da Rua (The Other Side of the Street) in 2003; Cidade Baixa (Lower City) in 2005; and Cão Sem Dono (Stray Dog) in 2007. Music for the film was handled by Giovanni Venosta, composer of the award-winning sound tracks for several Italian films: “Pane e Tulipane” (Bread and Tulips) in 2000, “Brucciando al Vento” (Burning in the Wind) 2002) and “Agata e la Tempesta” (Agata and the Storm) in 2004.

ESTÔMAGO was awarded the Ministry of Cultures Low Budget Film grant and its screenplay participated in the prestigious seminar on international co-production "Produire au Sud," financed by the French government.

Short Synopsis

The world is made of those who eat and those who get eaten. Raimundo Nonato, our protagonist, finds an alternative way: he cooks. He cooks first in a bar, then in an Italian Restaurant and then in prison - how did he end up in jail? He cooks and learns how to get by in a society divided in two between those who eat and those who get eaten. What he learns, are a series of rules he uses to his advantage: in the end, the cook must also get his share of food – and only he knows which part tastes best.
Estômago is an adult fable on power, sex and cooking.

The flag of Brazil has a green field on which a large yellow rhombus is centered. Tiradentes is the nickname given to Alferes Joaquim José da Silva Xavier, regarded as our national hero. He is a symbol of Inconfidência Mineira, movement that had its end in April 21, 1792, with the conviction of those involved had the intent to eliminate the Portuguese domination of Minas Gerais and establish a free country there.
The award of Tiradentes was hanged and disposal. His remains were scattered through the city to serve as an example.
This movement was inspired by the French Revolution.

Well, first I believe it is important to my location. Brazil is in the southern American continent. Our capital is Brasilia (not BUENOS AIRES, PLEASE!) And is located in the Central West. According to the last count (http://www.ibge.gov.br) census, which happened in 2007, we are 184 million people. Our extension is 8,514 215.3 km2, composed of 27 units of the Federation and 5 507 municipalities. Our official language is Portuguese-Brazilian (no, do not speak Spanish.)
